This show has joined my list of Christmas Classics that I watch each year. I definitely recommend that anyone who has not seen it, watch it! My only regret is that it has never been dubbed in English, I have no idea why. Other works by Satoshi Kon have been dubbed, but never this one. I could probably get more people to watch it if it was in English.
Yes, the Spanish has never been translated in any sub I have seen. I think it is intentional since there is no Japanese subtitles for it either. I think the viewer is meant to be just as lost as the Japanese character who is trying to communicate, "Thank you very much." :)

There is an English dub, but unfortunately it's lost to time since it was an Asian network's dub, and has never been released on home video in any form.
