The story focuses on Lt. Kei Katsuragi, a fighter pilot. His mission is to protect a new bomb while it is being planted. The bomb, the Space/Time oscillation bomb. The plans go wrong, Kei has to try and stop the bomb, messes up the settings and the bomb goes off, scrambling time, space and the dimensions. Produced by Studio Nue as part of a 3 series deal with MBS which also included Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross. Much like Macross it blends mecha action with romance in a scifi settings. While there are no idols in Orguss, it does have one of the greatest OP (Sky Hurricane) and ED (The Heart is Gypsy) of all time sung by the late Casey Rankin.
