Description

This torrent is intended to be a one-stop-shop for everything Nadesico.

Martian Successor Nadesico (Kidō Senkan Nadeshiko) consists primarily of a 26-episode series and a movie - The Prince of Darkness. Sadly, these do not form an entirely complete and coherent story. The story of the gap between the series and the movie was told in a game for the Saturn - The Blank of 3 Years - which was never translated; and the film was supposed to be the first of a trilogy, but only the one was ever made. Another game, for the Sega Dreamcast and also never translated - The Mission - provided some action that follows the movie.

This torrent contains the series in 1080p HEVC, with English and Japanese audio, including the Japanese 5.1 audio that other torrents have removed. I have also included several sets of subtitles from which you can select your favourite. The Gekigangar 3 OVA and clean OP and ED are included.

The film is also in 1080p HEVC, with English and Japanese soundtracks, both 5.1 this time. And again, there are several subtitles to choose from. There is a music video of one of the movie's songs.

Extras consist of:

  • summaries of both games, and related videos (shamelessly ripped from YouTube)
  • the manga (which diverges from the series story-line)
  • the complete music and drama CDs (flac)
  • a book of illustrations by Keiji Gotoh

Wow what a treasure trove this is one of the all time anime classics, thank you so much for working on this for us.

A must for any serious collector of Anime

I absolutely love Nadesico (it's my favourite anime ever), so I must comment. First some criticism, I wish it was 720p instead of 1080p.. I know 1080p has become the new standard but still, I like 720p the best. Anyways, you mentioned several subs, does that include Seikensha Schiaparelli Project (SSP) subs (for TV and film)? Because they still are the best ones. Then, I wish you wouldn't use episode titles due spoilers, well, they can't spoil anything for me anymore, but I don't understand why people use that naming in the first place. Speaking of naming, it still is Geki Gangar 3, there is a separation mark between ki and ga syllables in the official naming, I made Nekketsu_Power subs for that OVA, I don't know if they are included or not.

Then, the good stuff! You have the game related files which is awesome, Asamiya Kia's manga is cool bonus too (the manga is not very good though..) OST box is absolutely great.

Still, it being 1080p and having eww English dub track renders the torrent quite useless for me, but I know there are people who like those so I understand why you added them.

I can't get excited about that separator, I'm afraid. I note that it's not completely consistently used - it's missing from the title sequence of the movie contained in the OVA, for instance, and in the Japanese subs of the TV opening.

I didn't have a copy of the SSP subs, and didn't see that version around for download when I was assembling my pieces. I guess if I had, I'd've included them; but it's too late now. (The OVA is with SSP subs, though - your version was missing the fonts and chapters.)

The argument over 720/1080 will go on whatever decision either of us make (though having the movie at 688x368 seems perverse to me these days). I feel there's no actual harm in using 1080, and some systems might benefit. Similarly, I don't get the objection to English dub tracks - they can be ignored if not wanted, and even though I set it default (for my own preference) most players can be set to override that anyway.

To the uploader, can't thank you enough for this awesome collection! You deserve a medal for finding, collecting and sharing this!
I watched this in the early 2000's and it still is my favourite mecha/sf anime of all time. I still need to put together that Black Sarena mech kit I bought 10 years ago though...
They really ought to finally animate the gap between the series and movie and beyond besides the games, but I guess that's a lost hope.
In the mean time, I'll keep seeding this one!
