Description

V2 Audio timing and Subtitle fixes

  1. This is a remux of the JP BD Video and JP PCM Audio source, with the ENG MangaUK DTS-HD Master Audio sync'd. V2~

    1a. The JP BD has a higher video bitrate than the MangaUK and Funimation BD, how much of an improvement I cannot say but I still prefer R2J video sources normally.
    1b. Why MangaUK source audio (ENG ONLY): It was easier to sync than the funimation audio. (funimation audio required cuts instead of a simple delay)
    1c. (V2 Changes) This one has slightly improved audio timing it was only changed by 100ms not too much of a difference.

  1. Also inlcuded are the MangaUK subs ( SRT ) sync'd as well, which are the ENG Dub subs and the JPN Translation subs.

    2a. ENG Dub Sub has only one change from saying "mum" > "mom" thats it.
    2b. Why MangaUK source subs: It was easier to sync than the funimation subs and users have reported that the JPN Translation subs (MangaUK) are reported more accurate than the funi ones dont quote me on that tho I have not checked it myself.
    3b. (V2 Changes) This V2 has fixed subs for both the eng subs and eng Japanese translation subs. Thanks to Shinrunda for bringing it to my attention.

    3a. Being as it is a remux the audio and video are 100% completely untouched even the ENG audio sync'd.

R2J BoG Dual Audio Remux and R2J RoF Dual Audio Remux. But this time I found a way to sync up pgs (image based bluray subtitles) so i wont need to convert them to srt anymore. But I can still add the srt's as a side download if people need them since I will be making them for myself.

@jysze any chance you have the mangauk PGS subtitle synced for both jpn and eng? PGS is highly favored for remuxes tbh. Hope you have them, it will be perfect once it has PGS! Its not bdremux without PGS subtitles.

@gokuz

I would have to sync them via a delay PGS are image based subtitles and are hard to edit without a delay via the container.

To sync image based subs you must add a delay relative to the delay of the video/audio and if I sent you just the pgs subs they wouldn't be sync'd. Due to the fact that the delay is added to the pgs subs is added during the remux process so unless you know how to merge pgs subs to a mkv container with timestamps, I don't see how they will be beneficial to you now.

Also image based subs are terrible, srt and ass are the only way to go I see no reason why pgs should still be used today in remuxed files, for a untouched bluray iso or bdmv yeah its beneficial since it will most likely be used for burning to a disk. But since this is not going to be I see 0 reason to keep such a static form of subs, with srt you have flexibility like subtitle color, size, shadow and even font.

My next release of stuff will have PGS sync'd so I wont have to keep reading people asking for them, enjoy your oversized subtitle cancer.

Also it can be a Remux without pgs subs, the audio and video are what truly need to be left untouched. Especially when subtitles are notorious for needing fixes.

I own the R2JP BD and can confirm the audio on the LPCM 5.1 mix on it is even better than the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix on the Manga UK BD. It's louder, more aggressive, has more bass, and has better dynamic range. That said, a PCM 5.1 mix at full 24-bit like that is huge in terms of file size, but I feel if you make a 3rd version, you should use it for the Japanese audio.

@professorwho

The Japanese audio in this remux is the original audio from the R2J BD, unless I'm understanding you wrong.
But yes i also noticed the difference with the MangaUK eng DTS-MA Track compared to the R2J PCM Track it is exactly how you describe it.

R2J is just universally known so its just a habit at this point. But il change it for you bud I can tell its bothering you ;).

@JySzE
I'd imagine the japanese pgs sub doesn't require any syncing from mangauk. I wouldn't say your release is "100% completely untouched" if its missing PGS subtitles.
To have the full bluray experience, pgs is a must. Its like saying you're eating a burger without the buns. Sure you get the main stuff, but without the buns, its not a burger.

@Gokuz

You are 100% wrong they do require a delay, Both the eng dub subs and Japanese translation subs from MangaUK 100% unequivocally required a delay.

If you don't like my release go download the Broly JP BD and MangaUK BD, sync the audio streams and pgs subs yourself and then enjoy it.

Also your analogy is bull crap, PGS subs are not required for the full bluray experience. Do you have to have subs on to get the full bluray experience? no.
But this release does have the subs but in the form of srt if you so desire to watch it with them.

Not to mention if I wanted this to be a 100% 1:1 Bluray Remux I would not have had added English audio OR eng SUBS to a JP BD 1:1 Remux.

Stop it, the subs are included in the form of srt and thats what you're gonna get from me for this release, also its general consensus that remuxes can include or remove subs and still be considered a remux.

General example of a remux:

My next release will have pgs sync'd so I dont have to see this nonsense.

Having a weird glitch with the Japanese audio of this. It keeps like skipping. So whole sentences have missed words. Also a lot of popping in the background. English audio is fine. I tried rechecking the torrent and that did nothing. Is this just a one off thing? I tried redownloading and got the same result.

@KingOfBunnies I do not experience that at all and I even tried it on another pc. It may be your media player or pc. Good Luck.

@BoomerJuice
Mkvtoolnix to apply delay to tracks and audacity for the finding the delay values.
