Wakanim was never softsubbed. The file size is about 1GB though.

It's pretty garbage according to the settings. "bitrate=1496" is too low for 1080p, even with barely action scenes.
You really expected anything else from a streamrip? Wait for the blurays in 6 months if you care about quality. It's the same quality as CR/Funamation/any other airing anime.

I do. A stream doesn't always mean "bad quality". Only when they have no clue about decent quality.
For example, here settings from another anime streaming website: crf=15.0 / vbv_maxrate=20480 / vbv_bufsize=40960

The Russian dubbed Wakanim has no dialogue subs (obv). The typeset is still hardsubbed.

Yes, there is a difference (particularly in the last image in the background and on her hair), but it's so minimal you will only notice it if you're either looking for it or extremely autistic. The 1GB rip is bloated considering whatever source they were given is trash. Still, if someone wants to OCR/type the subtitles from this rip and put it on that rip, be my guest.
Probably better to take the game version (1 200 kb/s bitrate @ 720p, not on nyaa) and upscale it.

i literally cannot tell the difference between them. i can't see any differences that would effect people's viewing experience.
There's bound to be some mildly spirited disagreement amongst nyaa's userbase of the most serious encoding aesthetes weebdom has to offer though.
