Description

The subtitles have been heavily reworked by an experienced translator and someone who was a major arcade gamer during the time period the series is set and knew a fair bit about the subject matter. (For those interested in the English dub: sorry, this release is sub-only.)

Two subtitle tracks are provided, with localized and unlocalized names for the mentioned games. The unlocalized track is the default.

(This is the first half - we're still trying to acquire the final volume of the series.)

These are “reworkings” of Netflix's subs, of course. To my knowledge, the only other English subs available for this series are the Anon subs, and there's really no use in reworking what's basically a low-quality speed sub.

I will say this to Anon's credit, though. With the number of translation blunders that Netflix somehow introduced despite having the Japanese captions to translate from and an extra 6 months to work on it, there were many places that even Anon did better than what Netflix gave us.

Needless to say, we've fixed all those translation errors by editing or re-translating the problematic lines from scratch, as well as given the episodes the all-out treatment of full typesetting, karaoke effects, etc.

Thank you guys for making such a good release of my favorite anime! I watched the first episode and can tell you guys put a lot of work into making this the most perfect release!

As far as I can recall, Anon subs were lacking subs for next episode's preview (the after-credits scene showing 3 games and its release date (?) in Japan... those subs were available in Erai-raws and DragsterPS' version... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). So, I really appreciate the work you guys are putting to bring us a "trusted" release of this masterpiece... Thank you!!

Also would you be doing the Game Collaboration CM spots? These are present as extras in the BDs, but during the Japanese TV broadcast, they were intermissions in the middle of the show featuring the show's characters advertising the sponsor's games. Like ep 5 and ep 10 intermissions featured Hidaka and Yaguchi talking about Fatal Fury and jokes about Mai's boobs and SNK Heroines, etc. Anon translated most of these, except ep 6, 11 and 12. And these are entirely missing from the Netflix stream
