"Newspaper columnist Shiro Yamaoka and his rookie partner Yuko Kurita continue their research into writing “The Ultimate Menu,” a series of articles on gourmet food. As members of the Tozai News staff, they are invited to a company banquet held by President Kuroda of Dainichi Electronics. Kuroda, who considers himself a gourmet and chef, decides to prepare sashimi from fresh fish that were pre-caught and held in an aquarium. While there, Yamaoka befriends a little boy who inadvertently insults the president by speaking the truth about how badly the sashimi tastes.
