@Rowdy91 Encoder things. No need to put too much thought about it. He's basically telling you that you should use a different player.

Abunja Could try updating codecs, I use klite mega pack with lots of stuff option, I know packs can have issues but its enough of a shotgun approach that I rarely have playback issues. I use VLC as a backup half the time if something is broken it works in neither, sometimes it is an odd issue like [AnimeRG] Yu Yu Hakusho subs not showing in MPC or even show up in Aegisub, even MKV clever/MKV tools could not pull it out it. They got the subs up, wish they were named right tho LOL.

FFmpeg (and thus anything relevant) has supported that combination since June 2017. People just need to update their shit.

Although the thumbnails for the videos still make it look like the picture is broken. Any ideas about that?

That probably depends entirely on how the thumbnails are generated.
