The first anime was a "anime original" while this fallows source material. IIRC people were saying that watching phantom first can spoil you things

I don't know why I got my hopes up.

The old one is a classic, but seeing how in last 10 years anime mostly became garbage i dont have hopes for this so i wont be dissapointed...
