[MTBB] Sora yori mo Tooi Basho - Volume 1 (BD 1080p)

Saved on 2018-08-18 18:45:11. This copy includes the description and comments available at capture.

Description

A Place Further than the Heavens Above, Volume 1.

b6boost encode. orz subs. I used their non-honorifics track but switched to Eastern name order.
Some work done on typesetting. The snowflake karaoke nuked my computer so I nuked it in return. Changed English title to "A Place Further than the Heavens Above" after consulting with a couple translators.

EDIT: OK, OK, guys. I'll change it back to "Universe" for the next volume. I can see it's not worth it.

Please leave feedback in the comments, good or bad.
It is recommended that you use mpv, or MPC-HC with XySubFilter or AssFilterMod, to watch this and other releases of mine.
Anyone wanting to do their own release is free to use any part of this torrent without permission or credit.

"A Place Further than the Universe" is borderline nonsensical. Sorry if the new title is jarring, but the old title frankly sucks.

EDIT: Like, how can you watch Ep. 7 and not realize this.

Well, there is still time to change it back, so if you don't mind, please explain why the new title is retarded and why the old one is better. If possible, please make reference to the original Japanese (including the weird furigana thing it's got going on) and/or the role that the title plays in the scenes where it's mentioned. Thanks!

The Exosphere is the upper limit of our atmosphere. It extends from the top of the thermosphere up to 10,000 km... so this is where the "Space" starts.
And the distance from Antarctica to Japan is 13,930 kilometers.

That's why the title is "A Place Further Than The Universe".

edit: I can be wrong so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Instead you could just say even Carl Sagan doesn't talk about the stars as the Heavens Above.

"The Exosphere is the upper limit of our atmosphere. It extends from the top of the thermosphere up to 10,000 km… so this is where the 'universe' starts."

Mate, the universe doesn't start outside our atmosphere. We are in the universe here on earth. Perhaps you're referring to "space"? My title is attempting to refer to space specifically. "Universe" doesn't really do that.

You guys realize that while "A Place Further Than the Universe" is stupid, it's the original title.
Also, the Japanese title,"Sora yori mo Tooi Basho", translates into it, almost.

宇宙 means space/universe and it is not read as "sora" it's read "uchyuu". But on the Japanese wiki of the show "そら" is used for "宇宙" which IS read as "sora".

So basically, the show should be called "The place beyond the sky" if you want to be accurate to the Japanese writing.

Uuuh who cares what the nips choose as their translation. Last I checked they spoke niponese not English.

For a while, I'm pretty sure the Japanese official materials were using "A Story that Leads to the Antorctico."

The one in charge of the title is a retarded guy who doesn't know English and decided to use the word 'universe' because it's on the dictionary when he looked up 宇宙 (uchuu - universe, space) and it sounds cool. Even though they want it to be read as そら (sora - sky). If you want to be commying replace 'universe' with 'sky' or 'space' instead, I'd welcome that. 'Heaven' is just as retarded as 'universe'.

Or you could just, you know, use the romanji title.
I don't even know why you'd want the title for the torrent and the filenames to be different.

lol at this entire comments section

FWIW I agree with all of your choices on this release motbob aside from reverting the name order (see what Kiyome said). I’d keep the title as it is even if it makes people whine.

‘Heaven’ is just as retarded as ‘universe’.

Angles are desperate to get promoted to hell!

BE CONSISTENT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

where is the inconsistency? honorifics aren't part of the English language, so leaving them out is understandable, but correct name order is just... correct name order.

no, you have to localize name order, like how everyone calls the leader of north korea "Jong-un Kim".

really though, we don't reverse the name order of other languages like korean or chinese, so i don't know why people want to do it for japanese.

It is terribly distressing to be old enough to remember a time--long ago--when people would just say "thanks" for free shit, quite unlike the spoilt, entitled little half-tards who must whine and complain about every little thing in the place of that simple "thanks".

how about I keep pointing out all the horrible ways that motbob fucks everything up so that one day he wont.

EDIT: OK, OK, guys. I’ll change it back to “Universe” for the next volume. I can see it’s not worth it.

Just give a fuck about the people complaining. It's probably effort redoing the typeset and not worth it. You could just rename the files to the Japanese name and leave the typeset with 'Heavens Above'

really though, we don’t reverse the name order of other languages like korean or chinese, so i don’t know why people want to do it for japanese.

T H A N K Y O U

If I went to Japan I would not get called Smith Jane, for example. They'd call me Jane Smith. So I don't know why people in the West insist on reversing the name order.
