well we have 4 different sources for the visuals now, but the most pertinent question remains, does this have proper subtitles or dubtitles??

ENG Sub for JPN Audio

This track shouldn't be dubtitles. I mean there's another track for the english audio (which I assume are the dubtitles), thus no sense having 2 separate tracks be the same bullshit.

Yep. Confirmed. The track labeled for Jap audio is actual subs for the japanese script.

The track labeled for english audio is the dubtitles

Try VLC or do this for MPC

In options->Playback, check "use the built-in subtitle renderer"
Also, in options->playback->output, I'm using
"Enhanced video renderer" for directshow video
"Video Mixing Renderer 7" for RealMedia Video
"Video Mixing Renderer 7" for QuickTime Video
