The cards referenced in the episode are Hanafuda cards (literally 'flower cards'), which as you might guess are playing cards that depict nature and various months of the year. You can use them for all sorts of games. I've translated the names of its cards to the generally accepted English equivalents for each card; most of them depict Asian scenery, and most of said Asian names were too obscure. Daruma are round, usually-red dolls that depict the Buddhist monk Bodhidharma, and are said to bring good fortune and wishes to people. There's no great way to translate this, especially when I have so much to fit in as-is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma_doll

The Jizou or Kṣitigarbha is a Buddhist figure said to protect children and travelers, as well as guard the underworld. It's not uncommon to find statues depicting him in Asia.
