In the math problem, x = 98°.

First, set y as the unknown angles in the triangle. We know they are both equal because the problem says it's an isosceles triangle (it sets the relevant sides as equal).
Now we can see that 35° + y = x, since alternate angles of parallel lines are equal.
We also know that 54° + 2y = 180° because every triangle has 180°. Solve for y to get 63°.
Plug y into the first equation to get x = 98°.
Not that easy of a math problem for a 9th grader imo.
