Friendly reminder: SKIP THE FIRST EPISODE!
It jumps way too far ahead into the story, makes no sense out of context and will maybe even deter you from watching this amazing series. Episode two is where the anime actually starts so you are definitly not missing anything. Just believe me on this one.

How can watching one episode deter you from watching an anime? It doesn't make sense.
If you drop an anime after one episode I have no sympathy for you if you miss out a great anime.

@DarAR92: He's not telling people how to watch anime.... He's giving new commers preemptive advice on the show's structure just so they don't drop an absolutely classic series prematurely. If you enjoy this show you should want to increase the fanbase through helpful advice.
