Dual-audio remux featuring Winter's 1080p encodes and my own modification of Baal's subtitles (which uses Evetaku as a base). I resampled the scripts to 1080p, restyled the dialogue and slightly adjusted all of the typesetting. One sign was redone entirely. English audio was sourced from the USBD, synchronized and encoded at 24bit. To my knowledge (and in my opinion), Winter's 1080p encodes are currently the best available and look closest to the BDMV. If you feel like the size isn't worth it, you are better off downloading Kametsu's 1080p or Baal's 720p release instead.

cleo is just a re-encode for smaller size. Can't be "better" than the encode it was encoded from.

How does this compare to FFF https://nyaa.si/view/760323 video quality-wise? I compared both first eps but I noticed little to no differences, is it just me?
Seems that the main difference is that this is encoded in level 4.1 (4refFrames), while FFF is 5.1(16refFrame)

Winter’s encode is the best source available. FFF unfortunately used rather strong denoising and debanding which resulted in significant detail loss in many scenes with low lighting or action.

If FFF’s encode was in fact superior, I wouldn’t have used Winter’s encode for my release.

@Scyrous oh I see. Since I didn't really notice difference within the first ep, can you point me to a scene where you noticed detail loss?
No pressure, just reply when/if you have some spare time.
I'm asking just to see that with my eyes, since I'm still learning about encoding.

No problem. It takes a bit of pratice for sure. And admittedly, ep01 doesn't have that much action or troublesome scenes compared to some of the other episodes (e.g. episode 21).
Anyway, for ep01 you could take a look at these areas: second half of the prologue, most of the OP, 15:45 (Mikasa running), second half of part B. The BDMV source has a lot of nasty banding and some noise which makes it tricky to encode.

If you didn't notice a difference, I am not sure this release is worth downloading for you. I only made it because I wasn't quite satisfied with the other releases out there and found the detail loss / artifacting too distracting. As mentioned in the description, if you want something smaller (but with great English audio quality and subtitles) , I recommend downloading Kametsu's or Baal's release.
