Original release description:

Mewtwo Strikes Back has two cuts: the theatrical cut and the Kanzenban (complete version). The theatrical cut is exactly what it says on the tin--the version that was screened for its initial theatrical run in Japan. The Kanzenban is a later special edition with an added prologue known as The Birth of Mewtwo, and with number of re-animated cuts, a bunch of which involve the addition of CGI. See here for more information about the differences between these cuts.

The theatrical cut was only ever released on VHS and LaserDisc. Every subsequent release has used the Kanzenban.

This torrent is for the theatrical cut. You can find the Kanzenban here.

The video in this release is a Domesday LaserDisc capture with downscaled Blu-ray footage spliced in for all unaltered scenes, with the color graded to match the LaserDisc.

The subs are an original translation by our team. The script received a fresh QC and TLC pass for this version.

Note: The previous version of the theatrical cut we released was a lower quality LaserDisc cap, so it can't be patched into this version. This v2 of the theatrical cut is not to be confused with the v2 of the Kanzenban that was made obsolete with the newest version of that release.
