* Based on a history adventure manga by Matsui Yuusei. The year is 1333. The Kamakura shogunate has built the cornerstones of the Japanese government with the samurai class, but it all comes crumbling down as long-trusted vassal Ashikaga Takauji betrays the shogunate and sets up a rebellion. Houjou Tokiyuki, the rightful heir to the shogunate, has lost everything and been knocked down into the depths of despair and hopelessness. A Shinto priest named Suwa Yorishige takes his hand, and together, they escape Kamakura, which is now in flames. Tokiyuki, now having escaped Kamakura, has arrived at Suwa's territory, where he meets friends he can trust to build up power to take back Kamakura for his own. He overcomes this wave of a changing period by running away and staying alive, doing quite the opposite of what a samurai would - which is fighting and dying.
