In a post-apocalyptic world, Date Kyousuke is searching for his sister Runa. She has been kidnapped by an organization called the Kirihara Group. Along the way, he discovers that he has the ability to transform into a powerful being, the Soultaker, whenever he is severely injured or killed. He is also searching for the reason why his mother stabbed him, to then commit suicide.
